Metro East District Championships took place in weather somewhat different from that experienced last year. This year spectators were looking for shade from the sun rather than shelter from the cold and the rain. In any case the new marque's sourced by Le Prez provided that shade and will undoubtedly be very useful if we are unfortunate enough to experience inclement weather again. A number of our younger swimmers placed which in addition to their achievement on the day has also put them into consideration for the District Team which will travel to compete at the AIS in Canberra later in the year. Once more fun was to be had in the annual pilgrimage to "Tassie". The weather started off chilly, but the competition was hot as almost 200 young swimmers competed in the MLC Aquatic Encouragement Meet sponsored by 2XU. MLC Aquatic hosted the event at Ashburton Outdoor Pool and gave a large number of swimmers their first opportunity to compete and record a time. Thanks go to the whole MLC Aquatic community for participating and making the Meet so successful - State and National Squad Swimmers provided timing and parents undertook a number of activities and roles on the day. Thanks as always to all the MLC Aquatic coaches for preparing the MLC Aquatic swimmers and encouraging those from other clubs as well as unattached swimmers on the day. Results (PDF).
